The South American Business Forum is an annual conference which 100 students from all over the world attend together with 40 current leaders from academic, social, political and business backgrounds. The objective of the forum is to debate topics of global relevance, exchange opinions and experiences, and generate connections between the different actors that will contribute to the sustainable development of the South American region. This year, the main topic is about “A Conversation Across Borders” with subtopics namely “A Fragmented World“, “Human Technology“, and “Logics of Emotions.”
The conference covers all of the expenses for each participant since the moment they arrive to Buenos Aires. This includes the conference, hotel, food, ground transportation and materials. Also, there is no participation fee!
Eligibility:
It is required to:
  • Have been born from January 1st, 1990;
  • Complete the registration process;
  • Be either a regular undergraduate student, graduate student, or to have finished your studies (graduate or undergraduate) in 2015 or 2016.

Applications for See-Conic 2016 Student Exchange Program in Indonesia

See-Conic stands for Short Course of Environmental Conservation and Indonesian Culture. The aim of this program is to invite the international university students to learn more about environmental conservation and Indonesian culture at Semarang State University. The program has been initiated since 2012 and has been successfully held annually. The program will be held for two weeks. During the program the participants will learn about conservation which covers Bahasa Indonesia class, Traditional Dance class, Culture of the Archipelago, Biodiversity Conservation, Batik Workshops, Gamelan (Tradational Javanese Music Instruments), Sports, Art Performance, etc. In the following years, we also welcome a group of students from partner universities to join this program as past of the partnership program.
Eligibility:
  • Age 18 – 25 years old;
  • International undergraduate Students currently enrolled at the university;
  • Speak English (all the classes will be in English);
  • Willing to stay in dorms.
Requirements:
  • A copy of valid student card;
  • A copy of valid passport;
  • A copy of TOEFL/IELTS certificate, minimum 500 for TOEFL and 6 for IELTS;

Benefits:
See-Conicers will get a live experience on how to preserve the natural conservation as well as cultural conservation. Local students will introduce them to Indonesian culture and involve them in some activities on conservation.
See-Conicers will get opportunities to visit some historical and tourism areas in Central Java such as Borobudur Temple, Lawang Sewu, and outbond activities in Umbul Sido Mukti. The purpose of the activity is to introduce them to Indonesian history and natural landscape as well as to encourage them to promote Indonesian tourism places abroad.

Your Meal Summer School in Austria

The Summer School will include interactive workshop sessions exploring the key concepts of Global Education within the context of the Sustainable Development Goals, sessions with invited guest speakers on food security and food sovereignty, as well as visits to local farms or other sustainable agricultural projects. The summer school will also offer the space for participants to share their own experiences and learning, to develop new links between those active in global learning settings and those involved in sustainable agricultural projects, as well as provide sufficient space for participants to develop their own plans for future actions.
Eligibility:
This summer school is targeted at young people between the ages of 18 and 30, who are currently involved in youth work and youth-related activities or who are active in alternative/ sustainable food and agricultural initiatives. Having experience in global education is considered an advantage. Participants are further expected to have a good command of the English language, as all sessions will be conducted in English. Participants need to be currently residing in Austria, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Greece, the UK, Ghana or Benin.
Cost:
The Map Your Meal project will cover all participants’ travel and accommodation costs as well as visa expenses. The project team will organise transportation from Vienna to the venue of the Summer School on 26 June, and transport back to Vienna on 2 July.

Eligibility:
  • All students from any Commonwealth countries and meet the NGS requirements are eligible to apply.
  • Graduates with a passion for cross-disciplinary research in science, engineering, computing, and related aspects of medicine.
  • Graduates with at least 2nd Upper Honours, or equivalent qualifications.

UNEP invites nominations from individuals and organizations who exemplify leadership and advocate action on sustainable development and climate change at the national, regional and global levels. The awards will be given in four categories:

The Programme will focus or address the sustainability of natural resources poverty, health, food and agriculture, water and sanitation, human settlements, energy, climate change, sustainable consumption and production, oceans, and terrestrial ecosystems.
Persons may nominate themselves, their own organizations, or a third party whom they believe should receive recognition.
 
All nominations must be supported by three endorsers.

“Constanta International Model United Nations (CTAMUN), 21-24 April 2016, opens its gates for every individual ready to expand one’s political thought and diplomacy perspectives or simply for those willing to gain a sense of what a varied, fascinating world we live in.
Model United Nations (informally abbreviated as Model UN or MUN) is an academic simulation of the United Nations that aims to educate participants about civics, effective communication, globalization and multilateral diplomacy.
The conference takes place on duration of 4 days in Ovidius University of Constanta.
The delegates will role play as diplomats in 3 of the most compelling committees of the United Nations: General Assembly, Human Rights Council and Security Council over riveting topics and current affairs. MUN resembles a real political summit. The issues tackled during the conference are to be decided upon by the chairs and announced within a month before the conference alongside with the study guides.

International Video Contest Anti-Corruption Day 2016

Young people in the South East Asia Region are invited to make a stand against corruption via a short video clip of up to 3 minutes.
You may use mobile devices, video recorders, or any other camera devices to create a digital storytelling narrative, documenting the negative impacts of corruption.
The objectives of the videos should be as follows:
1. Drive awareness about the bad effects of corruption in our society and get young to take a stand against corruption.
2. Show how corruption impacts the daily life of normal people, especially the youth and women.
3. Encourage people to say “NO” to corruption.
4. Make corruption worth fighting against by showing what can each of us do to stand against  corruption, “Break the corruption chain” and uphold ethics and integrity.

Awards:
The best three videos will be awarded:
• An official award certificate ceremony will be hosted during the “Governance & Social Responsibility” Forum to be held in Singapore in July 2016.
• Selected videos will be officially used during the 2016 UN Anti-corruption Day Campaign (the potential audience is 200 million people around the world).
• Selected videos will also be featured on various UNDP/ ASEAN CSR Network media platforms including website, Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, Youtube and at selected events.
