on the topic “MIGRATION”! GESS takes place in Munich, Mexico City and
Shanghai from September 10th-16th 2016.
The Global
Entrepreneurship Summer School (GESS) has been founded by 4E, a unique
cooperation among the four entrepreneurship centers of Munich’s largest
universities. Since 2015, a global cooperation with Tecnológico de
Monterrey and Tongji University has been established to bring the
program to a next level.
During the Global Entrepreneurship Summer
School (GESS), 105 outstanding students located in three cities around
the world – Munich, Shanghai and Mexico City – will get together and
experience real entrepreneurship with a social impact. It is all about
doing!
Simultaneously with two other cities, you will work in
international and interdisciplinary teams to develop ideas that have
both a sustainable impact for society and a self-sustaining, profitable
business model. Over the course of 7 days, you will learn about
entrepreneurship, develop your own sustainable business ideas, and build
a long-lasting network of talented and entrepreneurial international
friends. A series of interactive lectures by renowned entrepreneurs
structure the project work and provide you with complementary knowledge
(e.g. business planning or topic-specific issues). Throughout the GESS,
your team is partnered with coaches who provide you and your team with
feedback and assistance on your project, business plan, and technical
questions. At these end of the course, you and your team will pitch your
idea to an audience more than 200 guests and you should definitely not
miss the celebration afterwards!
Eligibility:
All
undergraduate and graduate students, aged 18 – 27, from all fields are
welcome to apply (e.g., design, computer science, business economics,
humanities, social sciences). You must be enrolled at a university at
some point during the 2016 calendar year. For example, if you are only
enrolled until February 2016, you can still apply even though you are
not enrolled in September 2016. Their enrollment policy also applies to
graduate applicants, including MBA and PhD students.
Scholarships:
Scholarships
for the tuition fee is available. After being selected, you can apply
for 1 of 10 competitive travel scholarships per venue. The scholarship
covers 50% of your travel expenses from your country to the venue
(flight ticket), with a maximum of EUR 500.00. You will receive this
grant in cash during your stay, so all grant recipients must be able to
cover all expenses upfront prior to GESS.
